think I'll start using this as show and tell

Jessica and I created Christmas gift tags for her teacher as our gift this year. We had a great time doing this together.

It's the holiday season, and Drake has most of our shopping done. All the decorating is done (I think). I haven't decided if I'm going to be a baking fool this year or not. I'm going to start wrapping presents tonight to put under the trees. I'm pretty ready for a vacation, just like the girls are. I'm ready to stay home and hang out in the basement playing with the girls. I'm so tired today and think I'm getting sick which is not good since daddy's surgery is Monday. I want to go, but if I'm sick I won't want to be anywhere near him. He seems to get sick pretty easily now days. I don't want to jinx his surgery in any way.

February 22, 2010!!!

Why is my life passing me by? Where is the time going???!!!!

I had a great time scrapbooking with friends this weekend, now I have to do some laundry though.

Nicole got a red ribbon on her Science fair project last week, and Jessica performed in the 3 nanny goats gruff musical that the first graders put on.

I've gotten a new job since the last post, that is keeping me WAY to busy during the day and even into the evenings sometimes.

Drake is the steady one is the house. Wonder what that says about the rest of us. lol

Holy Smokes it's been a while

Things have flown by I tell ya. We've been in the house 5 months already! I love our house, now if only I loved the yard too. :( We have had some issues with the yard caving in, the builder still has lots of work to do out there. Matter of fact, just last week, they came and ripped out our back patio because it was sinking (towards the house even), now we are waiting for all the wonderful rain to come in and settle the ground again so they can repour the patio and back sidewalk. They also tried to regrade the back yard, I should say they did regrade and cut the cable tv cables that were buried. Guess they worked too hard in that one spot. I've got some pictures of the work out back, I'll try to load them tonight. I will also see if I have any updated pictures from inside the house.

Our first crash happened

I've been worried sick about the basement stairs since our kids haven't been exposed to them, last night was aour first crash. Jessica was our crash victim, she decide she would check the hardness of the basement floor. She's fine, just got some bumps and bruises on her leg.

We still haven't gotten all the boxes unpacked, but I do have a new incentive, our friend needs some. whoo hoo, good reason to unpack.

I've been brain washed and have committed to being a co-leader for Jessica's Daisy troop. Tomorrow will be our first official meeting although we led the December meeting so I'm hoping this one goes just as well as last month. Nicole just finished selling Girl Scout cookies (blush - I don't know the total she sold yet)

We are so proud of both girls, they both had perfect attendance and great grades for first semester. (Nicole was on honor roll, Jessica's grade doesn't do grades yet)

It's time to update.

We are moved in, still settling down but it will all fit in the house so that's a wonderful thing!!!

Since moving in we've had Jessica's 6th birthday and Thanksgiving all at our house and Drake's car died a very quick death. Like on his way home from an out of town job. After about a week of having one vehicle, we purchase an Impala. Ah, back to normal with two vehicles. If his car would have been considerate enough to wait until summer, he would have riden his Goldwing. The nerve of a dying car!!

We are busy getting ready for Christmas. The house is decorated, some of the presents are bought, nothing is wrapped and no cards are ready, no thoughts of baking even in my head. I guess I need to step things up a bit.

Jessica has really adjusted to school. She got her first nugget yesterday (this is a reward from school where the principle/Assistant priciple calls the parents to say what a wonderful job they have done).

Nicole just finished up organized volleyball through the school. She seemed to really enjoy it. The last game she was serving overhand, something she had been trying all through the practices. She was on top of her game the last game, she scored 5 points!!!

I'll try to get the girls pictures taken and updated on the blog this week.

I'm so tired!

We've moved in. :)

There are boxes everywhere, I've washed hundreds (k, it only feels like that many) loads of laundry since most of it was in a pole barn for 3 months. Yesterday I spent the entire day unpacking boxes, putting stuff away, then rearranging it two more times. I think things will continue to move about until we've lived here and gotten it all unpacked. It also figures that this is the busy time for Drake at work so he's putting in extra hours at home working on work stuff instead of house stuff. He has done ALOT, he hung shelving in our master closet and I've unpacked most of it. He'll be looking for underwear for weeks :)

Wish me luck in the unpacking and putting away stage now. I totally love our new house just wish it came fully decorated and unpacked.

I've decided there are some new things that I would like to buy for us.

1. New kitchen table (ours is a very light oak but new kitchen is dark wood).
2. New bed for our room.
3. New tv for living room.
